What's you favourite fun fact that you love to share with Wotton House wedding couples?

One of my favourite things about Wotton House is the intriguing history dating back to the early 17th Century, the first Italian Garden in England was built here. I loved learning how Wotton House played a role in the Second World War and was leased to the Home Office for a while to train the fire service. It's stories like this that I love to include within Wedition. What's you favourite fun fact that you love to share with wedding couples?

I love the stories that come with working at such an old estate, apparently there is a tunnel which the servants used to use which runs from the house to Dorking high street, I believe you can still see the exit door in Dorking. Hopefully it made their journey a little quicker as it is still 3 miles!

What is you absolute favourite location for an iconic wedding day photograph at Wotton House?

The temple in the Italian Gardens is certainly one to beat. During the day it is a fantastic backdrop to your family photos and at night it is back-lit so you can create some stunning couples photos.

Tell me about your bridal suite at Wotton House

We actually have a range of suites here so our couples can choose! At the moment a favourite combination is Japonica suite for the night before the wedding, it is one of the biggest and has a dressing room so there is plenty of space for you and your bridesmaids to get ready. Then our Hosta suite is a little more cosy and intimate for the night of your wedding. If you want the real wow-factor then the Primula or Jasmine suite have amazing views over the gardens. All our suites are in the original mansion so have lovely historical features, great views, roll top baths and super soft king beds.

How do the Wotton House team make a wedding day so unique?

Every wedding is unique! Our couples have a dedicated coordinator who assists them in planning their day, then our Wedding Manager and team ensure the day runs perfectly. One of my favourite touches is the breakfast invites we post in all the wedding guests' bedrooms. All your guests staying over will receive an invite with a time for them to join you for breakfast the morning after your wedding. A semi-private area in our restaurant is laid with your table centrepieces from the day before and you and your guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast together.

What do wedding couples love most about their Wotton House wedding?

I think the moment when the bride walks down the aisle in the Old Library, that really is a memory to cherish forever. The vaulted ceilings, 17th century details, candlelight and a room full of friends and family creates an electric atmosphere.

Why do you love having Wedition as one of your recommend suppliers and what is it about a Wedition wedding that stands out so much?

Wedition is something totally unique, we chose them as one of our suppliers as our couples put so much time and energy into all the little personal details we loved the idea that they could share these with their guests. We definitely notice how much laughter and conversation takes place at a Wedition wedding. When guests take their seats at the wedding breakfast there can often be a few quiet moments as not all guests around the table know each other, Wedition breaks the ice and give everyone something to talk about. Those awkward silences quickly disappear!
