With so many weddings taking place each year in a variety of exciting locations, how can you make your wedding stand out amongst others? Statistics show that wedding guests attend an average of 2 weddings per year, how many of those guests are taking their wedding favours home with them? One way to make your wedding stand out is by having an unusual wedding favour, something that your guest will talk about and cherish forever.

I love unusual, I love different, and I love quirky. we tried to make everything about our own wedding day as unusual, different and quirky as possible. When it came to wedding day favours though, I was really stumped. I had a look online at ‘unusual wedding favours’, and to be honest, I didn’t really feel there was anything unusual about the search result suggestions. I thought they were nice ideas, but nothing that would add any value to our day and fit in with our wedding day theme.

I thought back to weddings I had been to in the past, I love keeping little mementos, I’m always that guest to come home with a crumpled up menu in my handbag alongside my table name place setting and my wedding day favour. So often though, as I’ve followed the newlyweds out of the ceremony room I’ve noticed the order of service sheets left behind, not a thought given to them at all. And when the party is over, I have seen the carefully designed menus left discarded on the tables and the wedding favours carelessly left behind. I didn’t want that for our wedding. I didn’t want to fork out for paper stationery that would get left behind and spend money on favours that didn’t really add anything special to our day. And I still wanted that unusual wedding favour, that something that would surprise guests and make them think fondly back to our day and remember how we did things differently.

And so, Wedition was born. Unique, innovative and certainly ticking all the boxes in the unusual wedding favour department! A personalised wedding magazine, styled to our wedding colour scheme and theme, tying together all those little details we had spent months planning and preparing. We introduced our wedding party, included the hen party diary and incorporated a few fun quizzes and interviews. We also realised this would be a wonderful way to incorporate our order of service and our menu. Elements of our menu choices tied in with our journey together and the readings and song choices were of huge significance to us.

We married in October 2016, I sit here writing this post 19 months after our wedding day and our friends and family are still talking about our unusual wedding favours! They all took their Wedition magazine home, they all read it cover to cover, and they all know about the fun and quirky details we planned into our day and they are still talking about it!
