Vintage 1940s Tea Party Wedding
by Liz GathererI really enjoyed working with a host of suppliers to produce a stunning 1940's vintage tea party theme, modelled by real life newly weds Natalie and Dean at the 16th century grand barn at Essendon Country Club.
The orchestrator of this fabulous photo shoot was Katy from The Hertfordshire Event Planners who says that planning is absolutely key, Katy and her team will help you with all of the finishing touches.
The incredible photographer who captured our beautiful work was the gorgeously creative Kate Swerdlow of Kate Swerdlow Photography.

The perfect accompaniment to any wedding is Wedition, a personalised wedding magazine. Styled to compliment your colour scheme and wedding theme, this is the must have addition to any wedding, showcasing your story from how you met to the proposal; introducing your wedding party to your guests and a savvy place to have all the must have wedding stationery from the order of service and readings to the wedding menu. Many couples love to include games or quizzes to keep guests entertained whilst the wedding couple have sneaked off for their wedding photos.

Crockery by Elsie Rose Crockery
Jo of Elise Rose Crockery says, "I would advise the couple to always carefully consider paying for set up and styling when you hire vintage crockery or other props. It can be tempting to think you'll save a few pounds on the set up and do it yourself, however it's worth remembering that you will have a lot of last minute things to organise the day before the wedding and it will easily take a few hours out of your day. Also we have years of experience and do it all the time, so we really get the best look for you. The clearing up after is also something we can take off your hands and you really do want to avoid that if possible!"

Little details such as table confetti and bunting make a BIG impression. Use the bunting in key locations where it will be seen such as the entrance, by wedding signs and at the photobooth.

Light up letters by Design and Create Events
Leanne from Design and Create Events says,"I tell my clients to always say if you could have everything you wanted what would it be and then we work backwards towards their budget - most of the time we can manage to get together most of what they want."
Leanne provided the arch with the lights and chiffon backdrop, the Photo Frame pallet, the selfie rustic frame, the picnic table base setting with centre decoration and the light up LOVE letters.

Traditional flowers for your vintage wedding
When selecting flowers for your vintage wedding, think back to what was available at the the time, imported flowers would have been really expensive years ago so stick with traditional home grown flowers such as carnations, heirloom roses, peonies and scented stock. For nostalgia consider having cornflowers, dahlias, delphiniums, sunflowers and sweet Williams.

Wedding celebrant - Susan Dobinson
Susan's advice for couples is to "ask your wedding celebrant to arrive about an hour before the ceremony so they can check everything in place for the ceremony and meet those with special responsibilities to iron out any nerves. As a wedding celebrant, I always include this. I can have a practise with any little attendants and also introduce myself to family. Then when we start the ceremony, I'm not a stranger. Obviously not something a Registrar can allocate time for; another benefit of a celebrant/led wedding!"
