Date night at home during lockdown - great ideas for this Valentine’s day
by Liz GathererThis Valentine’s Day you may be struggling for ideas on how to celebrate together at home. I’ve reached out to fellow wedding supplier colleagues and asked them for their input and suggestions and have put together this great article full of fun ideas to try, whether you are in lockdown or not!
Put together a DIY hamper for your Valentine date night at home
Our friends from Facebook group Top Tips for Parties at Home had a great idea of creating a DIY experience hamper to enjoy together with your partner at home. Create your own spa experience by putting together a hamper filled with scented candles, slippers, face mask, matching dressing gowns, a voucher for a massage (given by yourself of course) or a perhaps a gift voucher for a pilates session. Don't forget to include a bottle of Prosecco and some tasty truffles, most definitely a romantic night in!
Date night at home treasure hunt for Valentine's day
Treasure hunts are such simple and fun things to put together, there’s no need to make the clues rhyme although that could be more fun! Tie each clue to a pack of Love Hearts or a small gift, all leading to an extra special gift at the end. The extra special gift could be a DIY hamper you’ve put together yourself, something you’ve bought online, perhaps a word picture celebrating your love for your partner.
A Valentine’s date night at home fine dining experience
You could set up a gazebo in the garden with heaters, petals, battery powered tea lights and fairy lights, and then have food delivered by a chef or local restaurant. If you enjoy cooking, you could make your own menu and serve dinner, perhaps get menu inspiration from the Quick Healthy Family Meals blog. Create a playlist of music or play a radio station such as Jazz FM. After dinner, play some games together… I’ll leave the games up to your imagination though! If games aren't your thing and you'd like something a bit more sedate, try chair yoga and dancing with Strictly Chair Yoga or book a pop up cinema experience with Movie at Mine.
Wedition Hot Tip: Create a mini cocktail bar so that you can mix a cocktail for one other, book a 30 minute magic show with The Ginger Magician to keep you entertained before dinner whilst you enjoy your home made cocktails!
