Real weddings: Paula & Scott’s pink themed summer wedding
by Liz GathererHaving got engaged in Mexico in December 2017, Paula and Scott set the date for their pink themed summer wedding at South Downs Manor for 22nd June 2019. I knew that I would enjoy getting to know this couple’s story and creating their Wedition as from the first moment I met Paula, her sunny personality shone through as she shared with me her fabulous ideas for their pink themed summer wedding.
The perfect favour for a pink themed summer wedding - Wedition
Animal loving couple Paula and Scott used their Wedition for their order of the day and menu, they introduced their wedding party, they included some fun information on their lovable dogs Albie and Archie as well as fun facts on each one of their horses. We also included a wonderful 'Our Star In Heaven' page for Paula's mum, Southdowns Manor history, wedding day details, wedding speech bingo, Mr and Mrs quiz and I spy.
If you would like your very own Wedition created for you and your wedding guests, then get in touch with liz@wedition.co.uk and we will capture your story and create this everlasting keepsakes that you and your guests will cherish forever.
Mexican themed pink summer wedding
As a nod to their fabulous Mexican engagement, the couple organised a Mexican photo booth theme along with Tequila favours on the tables. The tables were all named after places that Paula and Scott have visited together, the top table was “Mexico”.
Sunflower themed pink summer wedding
Paula’s mother has very sadly passed away, it was very important that Sylvia was a big part of Paula and Scott’s day. Sylvia is represented throughout the wedding as a sunflower, happy and always bright. Sunflower seeds were given as a favour with the message “let love grow”. I incorporated sunflowers as part of the design in Paula and Scott’s personalised wedding magazine. Paula has a sunflower tattoo on her back in memory of Sylvia.
Making lost loved ones a part of your day - pink themed summer wedding
We included an article entitled “Our Star in Heaven” which contained photos of Sylvia, a personal message from Paula and Scott and a moving poem selected by Paula. Paula had a little photo frame attached to her bouquet with a picture of Sylvia, this meant that Sylvia walked down the aisle with Paula, and was with her on this truly special day.
Our Star in Heaven
I am sending a dove to heaven,
With a parcel on its wings,
Be careful when you open it,
It’s full of beautiful things.
Inside are a million kisses wrapped up in a million hugs,
To say how much I miss you and to send you all my love.
I hold you close within my heart and there you will remain,
To walk with me throughout my life, until we meet again...
Making new wedding rings from old - pink themed summer wedding
Paula’s set of rings were created from her mum’s wedding ring and the diamonds it contained.
Scott’s wedding ring were created from two rings that belonged to his grandparents, whom he was very close to.
Pink flamingo at a summer wedding!
When Paula and Scott first met, their very first conversation was about flamingos, and wondering why they are pink! Placing a flamingo at the entrance to the aisle would mean that the couple walked past the symbol of their first conversation to then stand at the alter where they would become man and wife.
Something old, something new... for a pink themed summer wedding
Something old….
Having cleverly created the wedding rings from the ones belonging to Paula’s mum, this was the something old.
Something new….
Paula wore a garter given to her by her sister Althea, her something new.
Something borrowed...
The veil that Paula’s mum wore on her wedding day is also the one that Paula’s sister Althea wore on her wedding day. This veil was the one Paula was planing to wear as her something borrowed, sadly though, it did not suit Paula’s dress.
Something blue...
That would be Scott, take a look at his suit!
A wedding cake perfect for a pink themed summer wedding
The tasty cake designed with Nina from Cakes by Nina is a representation of Paula and Scott and their lives together. Incorporating their much loved dogs Albi and Archie, their horses, and the sunflowers to remember Paula’s mum.
An owl ring bearer on a summer’s day wedding
Paula and Scott arranged for two very special guests to deliver the wedding rings on the wedding day! Two owls from CSR Falconry made for an incredible surprise as they flew down the aisle carrying the rings!
