The Wedding Awards National Winner

What can I say? Another accolade for Wedition! This time I got to go on an adventure, I travelled up to Liverpool with my Mum for The Wedding Awards 2018!

I was very excited to find out that Wedition was a finalist in the Special Effects category at The Wedding Awards back in January. Wedition had to first be nominated, and then voted for by customers and businesses who work within the wedding industry. I submitted a number of answers to questions posed by the judging panel, along with photos, video and sample marketing material (showcase magazine, customer magazine, leaflet and business card). Wedition then went forward to the panel of judges who included County Wedding Magazine sales manager Uzma Saeed and marketing manager Michael Richards; business consultant Kevin Quartermaine ACIB; radio legend Jon Jessop as well as highly respected company owners in the wedding industry.

The category I had entered Wedition into was ‘best wedding day special effects’. For those of you reading this, then you know how special it is to have a ‘Wedition wedding’. Cherished forever by your family and friends, Wedition adds real value to your day. These wonderful keepsakes, bring your wedding to life, time and time again, long after the confetti has settled. Keeping the memories alive, allowing your guests to remember all those little details and touches, the connections and links between ‘this’ and ‘that’.

My mum, I can honestly say, wasn’t the least bit surprised that Wedition won, that’s mothers for you though! I was very surprised, I was against a real selection of finalists, all unique and quirky like Wedition: a monthly subscription bridal box company and a personalised Snapchat filter service to name two of them.

To have been honoured with this award, just after 12 months since my first wedding fair with Wedition, I believe is testament to how unique the product is and how I have managed to find a way to introduce something different and exciting into the wedding industry.

The Wedding Awards 2018

Paul and Karen from PMN Wedding Fairs won the national title for best wedding fair, as you can see we were all very excited! I was able to network with a number of suppliers that I had previously only met on social media, for example, Traci Wood from Wedding Day Angel and Micah Marshall Mrs Bouquets Flowers of Hampshire.

The Wedding Awards in Liverpool

Liverpool is a wonderful, vibrant and friendly city, a real pleasure to experience, around every corner you will find a world class choice of food from around the globe, live music through every doorway, The Beatles, love them or hate them, you can’t fail to appreciate their journey and story. We went on the Magical Mystery Tour a 2 hour bus tour of Liverpool exploring places associated with the Beatles, such as their childhood homes, schools, colleges, and places which inspired the songs, Penny Lane and Strawberry Field.

Liverpool Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum houses a variety of incredible exhibitions, including an exhibition on The Titanic, the Lusitania and a fascinating exhibition called Seized!, the border force national museum where you are able to enter the world as a customs officer and learn about some of the incredible ways smugglers try to get items across the border.

I hope I will return to Liverpool again to spend longer in the city and even more time exploring and learning the history!
